摘要
Authigenic greigite, which in principle may form at any time when dissolved iron and sulfide are available during diagenesis, is central to assessing the reliability of (syn-)sedimentary magnetization for magnetostratigraphic and paleoenvironmental studies. Knowledge of its mode of formation and geological preservation potential therefore are key to resolving the fidelity of (paleo-)magnetic signals carried by greigite.
