Environmental Challenges of Geothermal Energy Exploitation and Production摘要
Geothermal resources can be used in a wide range of perspectives from electricity generation, heating and cooling, mineral extraction to different industrial applications. According to the development of technology and changing needs in the world, innovative applications are being added to traditional studies in both exploration-drilling technologies and application areas in geothermal energy.
In the current energy transition process, geothermal energy is considered as an important renewable energy source in the energy transformation process due to its ability to provide uninterrupted energy and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Geothermal energy is considered as a reliable energy source for the future, especially in the fields of heating and cooling and in the production of critical elements such as lithium used in battery technologies, as it enables less emission of carbon emissions and is not directly affected by sudden changing climatic conditions as seen in other renewable energy sources.
Effective geothermal reservoir management by revealing the reservoir and geochemical properties of geothermal resources, which are the gifts of nature during both geothermal exploration and production, resource optimisation by using new technologies based on artificial intelligence in geothermal resource utilisation, use of different emission reduction technologies to reduce the amount of emissions in applications with systems open to the atmosphere make geothermal energy clean and sustainable.
