This paper presents the site characteristics of the Musi Fault Zone in the Kepahiang Urban Area. The measurement using multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW) is also conducted to obtain the preliminary ground profile and shear wave velocity. The ambient noise measurement is performed to obtain the basic geophysical information interpreted into horizontal to vertical spectral ratio (H/V). The inversion technique is conducted to generate a shear wave velocity (Vs) profile. Several parameters, such as the time-averaged shear wave velocity for the first 30 m depth (Vs30), site class, and depth of engineering bedrock, are also discussed. The results showed that intact clays, fissured clays, weathered rock, gravel, and sand dominate the soil layer structures in the study area. Vs30 ranges from 192 to 626 m/s, which indicates Site Classes C and D in the study area. The surface of engineering bedrock is generally found from 31 to 126 m below the ground surface.
